Default Computer and Throttle control in 4wd.

Today I went down a logging road with 2+ foot of snow. I was dragging my axles. I was in 4L. In a place I probably shouldn't have been. I was really working the jeep to get through it. The sliding car was lit up on the dash. Doesn't this mean the esp is off? I would floor it and the rpm were not responding with my response on the throttle. It seemed like it was just lugging down and sometimes would rev up. I sure did not like the feeling it gave me. How does the computer control this thing in 4wd? This was the first time I used it off road.

When that sliding car lights up it means your losing traction. The computer pretty much takes over. Hit that button next to the emergency flasher button to turn traction off (esp off button, even tho its not completely turning off esp). That sliding car light will permanently illuminate when traction is deactivated.

In 4wd low the light is constantly lit. Even not moving. Does that mean it is off?

You should look in your owners manual because I am pretty sure that the ESP is auto turned OFF in 4L (no flashing car). It stays fully on unless you turn it off in 4H (plus thats only partially off)

Unless you go above a certain speed, then I believe it comes on even in 4 low.
