This connection
Hi guys,,,,,
2008 rubi, unlimited...
On the weekend pulled a wire out of this connector while wheeling.. It's for the front locker I believe, ( the indicator light now just flashes),,so I have a couple questions for someone who might know..
This connector is on the rear of the front pumpkin, drivers side, just behind the vent tube...

Is this simply a connector, and could I splice the wires, eliminating the connector, or is it something more devious
Also, where it taps into the pumpkin, can it be removed so I can solder it properly,( so I'm not working under the jeep). If it can be removed, how does it come off , threaded, or just pull it out ???
Or, if I can get it out from the pumpkin end, is it something I should just go pick up at the dealership, and put it back the way it is supposed to be,,,,,,
Thanks in advance to anyone who responds !!

The part entering the pumpkin is the locking diff sensor. This sensor threads into the housing. The end of the sensor looks like a pan head screw and is moved in and out by a steel disc attached to the locker. Unfortunately, it's on the far side of the disc with respect to the threaded portion and cannot be removed and reinstalled properly without removing the carrier.
I would look at getting a new/used connector with at lease a few inches of wire still intact and solder it in. Other wise just b**ch together what you have by replace both sides of the weather-pack connector.
