Default crankshaft seal

the dealer called and said they have to replace the crankshaft seal on my 2013 jk unlimited with around 16000 miles. I have to say I have not even taken her out in the dirt yet. I'm starting to think I got a lemon. Am I just being paranoid? I was in at around 8000 miles for a new water pump. It's sill under factory warranty thankfully. Anyone have problems with there new wrangler

You've got a long way go to call it a lemon with just a seal. Most likely what happened is that seal was damaged upon installation so I think it is just a fluke. Many of us had water pumps replaced so that is kind of expected. Don't buy trouble just yet, I'll bet you'll have very few future issues. Enjoy and don't worry.
