Default Cruise Control

My cruise control hasn't been working since I broke the wires to the wheel speed sensor. I replaced the sensor and repaired the wires, but still no cruise control.

I cleared the ABS sensor codes and have driven about 200 miles without a code. Still no cruise control.

Anyone have any ideas?

Unhook the battery for at least a half hour and do a system reset.

A few thoughts....

Does the cruise control indicator light up on the dash when you press the button?

Are any of the ABS/ESP/BAS lights on?

Does your horn work?

Check fuse M37.

Steering wheel must be centered.

Not sure if our JKs have this, but I had a mercury mountaineer with faulty cruise. I finally discovered that there was a sensor on the master cylinder that told the cruise to shut off when you tapped the brakes. That sensor was bad so I replaced it for about $15. That fixed the problem. Apparently my cruise was thinking my brakes were applied because the sensor was bad.

I just installed cruise on our '09. With the drive by wire setup, the cruise control is completely software based. There's only a few things that could be causing your problem.. The stalk is faulty or the computer software has become corrupt.

I don't think the wheel speed sensor or wires have anything to do with it as long as the lights are out on the dash.

Mine was the switch on the steering wheel.
