Default Damage to front crossmember?

Made several mistakes today while wheeling, which I am admittedly without much experience. Unfortunately I had been working on a Warn mounting plate for my new winch, but there was a defect in the mounting plate and I've been addressing with Warn. At any rate, given problem with the mounting plates I had my bumper on but without the tow hooks. So I took my doors off for the first time and my brother says lets go to the desert. Of course the plan was for a quick cruise, but ultimately we got stuck. So my buddy said to attach our tow strap to the crossmember running between the frame, I've attached photos. So what is the name of this particular part? And how much have I likely cost myself to repair this? Also is there in urgency in repairing this? Luckily it did get me out, but obviously it's going to cost me. Any thoughts for a wheeling noob? I accept I made several mistakes not limited to wheeling without another vehicle, wheeling after I had taken off my bumper waiting for my winch mounting plate, and wheeling without somebody with experience.

Looks to me like the crash bar. It's meant to absorb frontal impact with lower vehicles. There are a few manufacturers of extreme approach angle bumpers that in fact require you to cut that off all together.

As far as repair requirements or costs, I have no idea.

You can order a new one, it involves cutting and welding. They may be a legal requirement depending on where you live.

Cut it off, and if you live somewhere where it is a requirement to have it installed, weld a piece of round stock in its place.

Maybe look into a taller lift and tires as well... Just saying, you could miss the whole part where you hit it in the first place.

So the stealership body shop looked at my crossmember and it looks like the replacement bar is about $240 with includes the brackets to the frame. Complete quote was $650 for removal of old crossmember, welding of new crossmember, and painting of new unit once secured. Estimated 3 hours labor for removal and attachment and 2 hours for paint afterwards. Does this seem reasonable for those of you with experience with body work? Also I need this fixed given my winch mount attaches to the brackets.

I will get a second quote from a body shop. Dealers are normally much more expensive.
