Default Dash scratches

I've tried. Short of scraping a screwdriver across the dash, mine doesn't scratch at all. I raked my fingernails across an inconspicious area. Nothing. tried by the glove box, the doors. Nothing.

Is it more apparent on the black plastic?

June '07 build.

Same here, I don't have any scratches in the plastic despite whats been done to it. Guess some of us got luckly with the plastic interior. Oh, and mine was built in Feb 07.

Anyone got a pic of their scratched dashes so I can see what they are talking about?

Just about every piece on my interior is easy to scratch. In fact.. when the dealer detailed the Jeep on the first day they ended up scratching a panel pretty bad. I brought it back and they "repaired" it... but the repair started to peel the next day. Now they say they will replace the panel (it's rather large)... although I haven't heard back from them.

Not only is there the big scratch they did.. but I was putting on my seat belt and nicked the arm rest pretty bad.

My Jeep is a July build... perhaps its just the interior color I have? The slate gray?

The pebbly textured stuff in mine is all scratched up. It was the day i picked it up and it has gotten alot worse.

No pics, but a scratch is a scratch~not rocket science... the plastic gouges easily and discolors to a pale grayish white. especially the glove box area. The lower sill plastic seems fine though.

It would be interesting to see if the '08's have the same scratching issues. At first the scratches really bugged me.. since it was so new (Still only has about 400 miles on it).. but then I said.. "oh hell.. its a Jeep".

Also.. I noticed the hard top scratches easily too.. same pale white scratchings.

NO. You are incorrect.

Mine was built 9/12/2006 and has SillyPutty for plastics.
One of the guys at work just picked up his red X that was built in June of '07 and his plastic is as much a POS as mine is.

This is so bizarre. Mine was built in Jan. 07 and does not have this easy-scratch plastic... talk about total inconsistency in manufacturing!
