Default Dead tranny?

So I'm out of town visiting my gf, about 5 hours away from home, and last night my car took a dump on me coming home from dinner. Car was running great then we came to a red light and all of the sudden, it won't go into gear whatsoever. None of them. I turn the car off, it goes into all 6 gears but if I try and start the car in first or any other gear, it bucks back and forth like it's stalling out and shuts itself off. I had it towed to local jeep dealer and am headed up there soon. Anyone have any ideas? I've got an extended warranty upto 100k miles and I'm at 50,000 right now.

Your clutch went out....sounds like just the hydraulic actuator portion. BUT, it is ok since it was your car and not your jeep.

Yeah, sounds like the clutch isn't releasing; does the peddle feel any different or is it sitting at a lower height?
