Diesel Fuel Filter
No it`s not his fault ! I got him confused by sending him some very messy emails as i got myself confused because it seems my dealer sold me wrong size filter which is way too large to fit into where it is supposed to.
I am going back to my dealer in the morning to get a new one.
I am so sorry buddy ! Forgive me.

I know this is an old thread that I am bring up but thought I would add an update just I'm case anybody like me searches on the subject.
The drain plug on the filter body with the two wires protruding is not actually a drain plug. This is the water in fuel sensor which eliminates the need to routinely drain the moisture out. You will receive a warning light on the dash if this sensor detects water. I guess it's basically a conductivity probe which will make a circuit when water is present lighting up the dash. You can still drain diesel out by unplugging the sensor and unscrewing the plug.
The filter replacement is a 1/2 hour job following the instructions posted in this thread. Just a word of warning though, the new filter will leak if not fitted tightly. There isn't much room to get any great leverage when working with one pair of hands. The filter screws into an unsupported, Un-ridged housing so you use both hands in opposite directions rather than both hands getting a good grip on the filter to tighten it up.
