Dieseling/Ratteling sound coming from Engine/Transmission while under load...
So again yesterday, I had to cancel my Appt with the stealership due to work issues but am getting ready to head in pretty quick here. But I wanted to post this up.....yesterday I drove all the gas out of my Jeep and refilled with 92 octane and the dieseling/ratteling sound completely went away. Within a mile the noise had dissappeared and even taking off from a stop in 2nd gear there is no noise. To make sure I wasn't just imagining things I had my wife drive (which is the ultimate test as she never listens to the engine while shifting). It is noise free but I will bring it up with the stealership and see whatthere two cents is on it.
My truck sounds like a diesel when i first start in first gear. its done it pretty much since day one never really though anything of it. My truck also has a rattle when under a load, I'm pretty sure its the throw out bearing, ive check all the heat shields and everything and i can't find anything loose at all.

It sounds like you guys are experiencing spark knock due to carbon build up.
The best carbon remover I have found is called Yamalube Ring Free. It's made by Yamaha & primarily designed for 2 stroke outboard boat motors, but is safe for 4 stroke motors as well.
I use half a bottle per tank of fuel.
It cost $20 & can be found at Yamaha boat supply dealers or even motorcycle dealers that sell the Yamalube line.

Mine has the rattle noise as well. Mine is mostly in fourth gear but I get it in second and third from time to time. Mine has a diesel sound under the Jeep too. Seems like when a compressor kicks on it does it then shuts off. I am going to try 89 or 91 octane next. Mine is a 2012 with 8003 miles! I want my TJ back......
