You should change the fluid for your differentials on or about 30k. You should also change the fluid in your transfer case as well at the same time.

I asked this question on another thread and people were horrified when I said the manual says check it at 48k (2011 and 2012 says this, you can download the owner's manuals from jeeps webpage, if I am wrong can someone point me to the page number)... now we have someone saying 30k and someone is saying it should be 19k which isn't even an interval in my manual... (mine has 8,16,24,32,40,48).

I will likely change at 24k... if I was at 30k I would go ahead and change it.

You have an '09?

Below is from the '09 Owner's Manual. If your Jeep is mostly used on-road, and you don't tow a lot, 30,000 miles is a great time to change the axle fluid.
The book never does say to change it if you're not using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet,
off-road or frequent trailer towing.

18,000 Miles (30,000 km) or
18 Months Maintenance
Service Schedule

Inspect the front & rear axle fluid, change
if using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet,
off-road or frequent trailer towing.
