diff oil

Default diff oil

i went to check my diff oil and as soon as i pulled the fill hole oil poured out. and now i cant get anymore in. but i have heard as long as the fill hole is pouring out oil u have enough oil is this true. thanks

I think you'll be okay, assuming you're on a flat and leveled surface. When I changed my diff oil, I had oil coming out of the fill hole -- just real quickly get that cap/bolt threaded back on. I'm fairly sure you will be okay.

i agree with run them over!! with stock covers you want to fill it until oil comes out the fill. thats it. might have been overfilled from factory.

i even put the front tires on the curb and it was still coming out so i just gave it a squirt from the bottle and threw the pug in.

09jaykay you should be fine. i did that with mine too cause i wanted a lil extra in there. i have had NO issues. i am also runnin royal purple in the axles and trans. got about 8000 miles with them in and ZERO issues. the maunal trans feels much better with that in.

must have been overfilled from the factory

you will be okay,

it should be changed every 15000 miles, so if you hit that already it would be a good idea to change the fluid front and rear

Why do we have to change this diff oil so often in these jeeps. I have had to change mine twice in the rubi or the rear elocker does not work good.

Is mopar oil crap? Why do I even ask such a stupid question as I already know this answer.

Strange, no one suggested that water might be the culprit. Was your fluid milky? Have you been through streams, rivers, mud holes? If so water may have filled your differential.

You will need to flush n fill.
