Default Diff service question

I am using the forums write up on changing the diff gear oil. The write up states that the "drain plug" is magnetic. I just took off the"fill plug" and that was the magnetic one. Did someone put these on incorrectly and should I put them back the way the write up states or the way they came off? Thanks I'm waiting to hear before I proceed. Thanks again.

The magnetic one should be the drain.

Write up said it would take 1.3 quarts but started oozing back out right at a quart. It was the front. I let it drain until it stopped dripping. Hope thats ok. Now to the rear!

I have a 2012 sport. My front took 1qt and the rear took 2. Yes, the magnetic plug should be the drain plug.

Thanks much. Yep it took 1 in front and 2 in the rear. Front oil looked clean but the rear looked every bit of 51K miles worth. Thanks again.
