Is this the same guy?
Or did we just have that same question within 3 days? I've always heard the JK has attracted a whole new group of people to Jeeps. Did you guys see the new body kits and lowering kits in the new Quadratec catalog? :dontknow2: |
I just heal toe when i a slowing down to a stop, downshifting on occasion. i have a feeling he is talking about the same thing. God it would just be stupid to heal toe around a turn in a Jeep

You might not be able to "heel - toe"! Butt, I bet you can "heal - tow"!:rotflmao2: Learn to drive with both feet!!! Just curious, what do you mean "learn to drive with both feet"? For a manual transmission, I am driving with both feet for sure. |
Not only is there no horsepower or torque in a Jeep, but it is a fairly unstable vehicle to say the least. There is plenty of body roll and understeer as is, no need to induce more my chucking it into a corner. Drive like the other Jeepers too, the world will still rotate if you can't heel-toe it coming to a stop light...
Or figure out how to mod it yourself, i think it's well known you're probably the only one here looking to mod a jeep to do this. Unless your planning a hemi swap, lower it to gain some actual stability and independent the axles, i dont think it's worth wasting the time.. Picture a Jeep guy on a Honda forum saying his new Honda can't rock crawl...it looks ridiculous.. |
Jeez, you guys are rough,
I have done exactly what wolfmanii has asked, I spaced the whole accelerator assembly down and out (since it's mounted on a sloped bit of the firewall) so that the pedal is level with the clutch and brake like a normal car. I am an old rally car driver and can't help heel toeing and double clutching so I found having to pull my foot back 6 inches off the gas (your term) before I could slide it over to push the brake annoying. I've found that the new configuration is easier to drive and as a bonus the pedal doesn't catch on the bloody high sided floor mat anymore either. a short piece of 2 and 1/2 inches box tube drilled on one side to bolt on to the standard pedal mount on the firewall and then studded to accept the pedal worked for me. i'm sure you'll figure it out - go for it Ado |
Old rally car driver sounds better than a old honda civic driver :D, just jerkin his chain is all :)

I will try to find a way to add this box (extender) on my gas pedal. How do you think about this one http://www.airbagonoff.com/catalog/p...0024373fae27fc |

Have you ever watched a professional drive? If not, imagine Sammy Davis Jr. in his tap shoes working the clutch, brake pedal, and accelerator pretty much all at the same time. That is what its like! Check You Tube for some videos, you will see what I mean....heel - toe is stage one.
Yes, with my civic, I am pretty much doing the same thing. Since the clutch/brake/throttle pedal are almost at the same level in civic, it is quite smooth to perform heel-toe downshift The reason I raised this new thread is because in my new JK, the Brake Pedal is much taller than the throttle pedal. So for me to peform the heel-toe, it is kind of hard because you have to press the brake considerely hard before reaching the throttle. |
