Default Disable Horn honk on unlock for '07 & '08?

Search has gotten me nowhere, so...

Back when it was new, my '08 JK would not disable the "horn honk with remote lock" feature no matter how many times I tried. The dealer had to disable it for me. I heard this was a problem for the 07's and early 08's.

After my TIPM had to be replaced, the horn honking is back...

Anyone know if this problem with the 07's and 08's was the Jeep or the supplied remote? That is, if I program a new remote to my Jeep, will it be able to disable the horn honk without paying for an hour of the dealer's time?

The reason the honk has to go is that I have a train horn and I can't have it going off in the subdivision when I get home early in the morning.

Too bad they didn't add this to ProCal, along with the ability to change the "headlights on with unlock" feature.

Are your doors closed when you try to program the feature? They should be on some features. This may be one of them.

I have an early 2008, and this works on mine:

Press and hold the Lock button on the fob for at least 5 seconds. While still holding the lock button, press the Panic button and release both. Test operation.

It's snowing out right now, so I did this from the comfort of my living room couch.
Programmed to honk, then programmed to not honk.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work even though I've tried it many times.

Stealership it is then... sigh!

As you step off your jeep, push the lock button on the inside of the door. All doors will lock and no honk will happen. It's not the exact solution you were going for but it will work.

I've tried this many times on my '07 as well and it never worked

I just might give it a shot again some day. I work on call and the horn can be bothersome at 3AM

I am going to try this today. I have an '08 and it's annoying hearing that honk everytime I lock the doors. I'll let you know if it works for me.

Tried this several times and it did not work. I have an '08. Any other suggestions? As this honk is somewhat annoying!

my 2008 is 'honk-less'...i really wouldn't want a honker...

but if i could ask a side question...
using a quote from the first mail...
quote :::

''along with the ability to change the "headlights on with unlock" feature.''

i would love to lose this 'feature' ...
has anyone cracked it yet... ???

You can just press the lock button on the door, doesn't honk with that
