I am thinking about upgrading the poor lighting on my JK and was wondering if the European JK was given a better lighting option. I almost went for the HID kit that Rebel Off Road sells but after a little bit of research was unable to figure out why it was twice the cost of a good HID kit bought elsewhere. So where I am now is considering a different headlight fixture, possibly what is in the Euro JK if it is better, with the option of popping in a decent HID kit later.

Look at IPF's, Hella e-codes, and Cibie's. All are halogen replacements that will offer a big improvement over stock, and aren't too expensive

The Europeean JKs has as factory equippement Hellas headlamps code 50R-00333 with H4 bulbs PWM controlled. Not a great setup for my taste, i.e the high beam is aimed to high when the low beam is relatively leveled. Anyhow the europeean models has level controlled headlamps as standard.

It's weird, mine don't look bright from inside the cab but when on low I get flashes all the time. Usually I have to put on the fogs and flash (all lights) to get them to stop. Could be just 'cause they are above most cage drivers eye level...:gak:

I have a 2012 and my lights are quite bright... With or without the fog lights on...

Hi guys

I have a Middle East spec 2012 JK. It has E code Hella headlights.
With the low beam set properly, the high is way too high. I don't even use them while off roading as they light up the next dune and nothing between my and that distant dune....

Paul

Hi Paul,
Does the Middle Est JKs also has the manual headlamps levelling sistem factory fitted?

I get the same reaction, I just chalked it up to the lift and tires. But I do the same, with the fogs and just pull back a little bit on the high beam so they all flash.

H4 here in New Zealand and my JKU came with light levelling switch. Might be more of an Unlimited thing due to chance of more weight in the rear space than the 2dr? Happy enough with the headlights around town but love my IPF spotlights in the country and for night runs
