You might need to go on a forum about cars. On here we talk about JEEPS.

How can you know what a upper and lower control arm and bumpstop is and not know what a jack or a heat shield is? We don't drive cars on this forum we drive JEEP's, that's why it says jeep on the grill and not car!

The Jeep should not be jacked up. You need to tighten those control arm bolts while the Jeep is on the ground with its full weight planted.

-The rear, you need to remove those bumpstops so you can gain access to it.

-The front, you need to unbolt and remove that heat shield to gain access to the bolt.

...In the future, please do not refer to your JK as a car, please refer to it as a JEEP

Good luck and let us know how it turns out...Cheers....

Geez guys clearly english isn't his first language. Why not try helping the guy out instead of criticizing his choice of words.

Anyways, yes the control arms can be a pain to get to but it can be done with a couple crescent wrenches. Yes you can jack the jeep up in order to break the bolts, but they should not be torqued until the jeep is back on the ground so that the bushings don't get pinched up.

Good luck

tkkim, you do not need a floor jack. You re-torque the suspension bolts with the Jeep sitting on the ground under its own weight.

The rear bump stops will un-bolt and come off so you can get to the rear upper control arm bolts.

The front control arm heat shields (you were right about that) also unbolt and come off to access the front control arm bolts.

Please never call your 2012 Bright White Sahara Unlimited a "car" again please. We all own JK's or Jeeps, not cars!

Good luck and ask more questions if you need to.

My preference is to not use crescent wrenches. But would please expand on your statement?
