Noticed it today

Only 16,500KM on the Jeep so far, is this something I should worry about? Back to the dealer for warranty fix?

looks like there's a bit of a leak there..... i'd have it checked out, you dont want to be running your diff without oil, if thats the case.

Yeah, take it in. That's probably the weld that holds the axle tube in that's leakin. It's not too uncommon.

Why not use it as an excuse to put solid diff covers on?

Unless there is actual oil dripping and hitting the ground they probably wont do anything for you. I went to two different dealerships for the same problem you're having and they said there was no active leak so they couldnt fix anything, and actually my mileage at the time was similar to what yours is now. I did however drain my diffs for the first time about a month ago and the amount of oil that came out of each was right on the money, so that tells me it wasnt a leak. It's probably just your breather tube.

Clean it up. Keep an eye on it. See from where it originates.

That's what I would think....but worth to take to the dealership while under warranty and have them note the issue on there system. If it continues to persist he has some backup to have Chrysler repair the axle issue should he be getting close to no warranty and it's the axle that's the issue of the leak.
