Default Door alignment problem?

Does anyone know if there is an adjusment that can be made on the doors (2-door)? My passenger's side door seems to take a lot more effort to close it. You have to slam the door to get to shut it all the way. I don't have that problem with the driver's side.

My front doors didn't close quite right when I picked it up at the dealer. They closed very hard, and then the back corners of the door stuck out a bit, rather than fitting flush. There are two areas of adjustment with the doors--one being the "catch" and the other being the brackets in the door jam that actually hold the door on.

In my case, the dealer had the mechanic adjust the catches on mine, but it didn't help the problem. My husband tried to tell him that it needed to be adjusted at the bracket location, but the mechanic insisted that there was no adjustment possible there. After we got home, my husband loosened the brackets, and just as he thought, there was some room for adjustment in the bracket area inside the door jam. It took a few tries to get everything lined up properly, but we were able to get the doors adjusted perfectly. They now sit flush and close easier.

Ditto. I fixed mine this weekend. I think it took a T40 for the bolts on the hinges. I had my Brother-in-law help and we did it in about 20 minutes. Pretty easy actually. I recommend you make your dealer take care of it, unless you don't mind chipping the paint around the hinges and on the bolts. I just cleaned everything up and used touch up paint to cover the chips.

Don't let the bastards tell you it's the seals being tight.

There are adjustments that can be made. My driver's door was protruding about 1/2" when closed at the bottom rear. My dealer's service dept. had it fixed in about 30 minutes. Definately take it in to the dealer to fix.

My drivers door sticks out about a 1/4". I hate taking things to the dealer, they just scratch up something else. Like the plastic interior.

Humongo, did you adjust the bottom hinge in or the top out, to get the back bottom corner to sit flush?

I more adjusted both of them up. As in, the door hinges were both originally hung too low, making the door too high. I think the bottom one was adjusted more out than the top. Kinda hard to explain.

I just loosened all the bolts and did trial fits to get it right.

Yeah they took mine to a body shop, and it's been there for almost 2 days, I might ask for it back at this point and fix it myself.

I have this problem, too. The front doors stick out a little bit at the bottom and don't seem to close quite right. The driver's side door also does that annoying tapping/rattling thing when I'm driving.

Dropped it off at the service dept. today, so we'll see what they end up doing to it....
