Default Door hindge pin help

Right now I'm attempting to replace my broken pins with new ones got one old one out like nothing just popped out putting the new one on I've got about 1/4 to go till it's in. I'm using a rubber mallet but it won't go anymore anyone have any tips on how to do this?

It looks like there are splines on the pin, just under the head. Did you line those up with the splines in the hinge fitting?

If it just won't go, you can take the hinge off the door, and have it pressed in.

There's nothing to line it up with what would I use to press it in?

Could try pulling the hinge and putting it in a bench vise.

Well, if there are splines on the pin, there are slines in the hole, even if they are not very deep.

Take the hinge off the door. Put a deep socket over the exposed end of the pin, so the socket rests on the round part of the hinge.
Press the pin in with a vise, a big C clamp, or take it to a shop that has a press.

Drill the head off, and use the same technique to push it out. (A small deep socket where the head was, the same deep socket you used for installation over the exposed pin.
