Door hinge bushings
Just as a heads up to anybody looking to purchase from Magnitude Engineering; don't plan on returning anything to them for a refund or swap. I recently purchased a full set of door bushings along with their install tool for a 2008 JKU and they would not fit. The reason they would not fit (I'm assuming) is because I just installed a full set of stainless hinges by Kentrol, and they must use different diameter hinge posts than factory. I sent an email to them outlining the problem asking for a return authorization number and got no immediate reply. After two weeks of no reply I decided to try calling, only to be sent to voicemail; which I left an message. Another 2 weeks and nothing, so I call again only to leave another message. I have since reported to PayPal and I am stuck with a set of bushings that are useless to me. It's only $100 dollars, but it's the principle of good business versus bad business practices. I'm offering this set of 8 bushings plus install tool for free to first person who claims them. I'll even pay shipping. I'll be reposting this on other JK forums as I want everyone to know about the business conducted by Magnitude Engineering.
only 1 old hinge insert was a problem otherwise quick and easy replacement.
I replaced all eight of mine for $5.50, went to the hardware store bought a 1/2in by 12in piece of brass tubing. Tapped the old ones out from the bottom with a screw driver, cut the brass tubing into 8 equal pieces (1.5in), and flared it at the top with a plumbing flare tool. Tapped them all in put my doors on and all four doors work smoothly. I understand brass is a softer metal as far as metal goes but if I have to replace them every year $5.50 and 15 min. of work not a bad deal.
