Does anyone here drive with the nuts off the door hinges so that the doors can come on and off easily? It seems like the doors wont fall off if they are shut while driving and it would also be easier to remove them without having to get the tools out.

 

yep, Just leave the nuts off. Doors aint goin' anywhere.

 

Put the nuts! If you have an accident, a door could fly away and kill a person.

Don't know in USA, but in Quebec, it's illegal to remove the nuts

 

Really? How the heck would they know?

Not like a cop is going to pull you over because he noticed you didn't have any nuts on your doors

 

Mine have been off (not sure if I still have them even) since day one (almost 2 years ago. Same for all my previous Jeeps.

 

I totaled a 2004 TJ with the door nuts off. Doors didn't budge. I have also rolled/flopped many many times (unfortunately) with other TJs and the doors did not budge without the nuts on them.

I have seen a TJ roll where they did come off. So don't believe it is not possible. Just extremely unlikely.

 

Ya I dont have them on either ever since back in Spt 07 when I bought my X. I havent had any problems.

Just take the doors off. Bikini top, or no top. And a cover at night to keep the creatures out.

 

I think the nuts might be in the glove box but really not sure.
