Default Door Storage Problem

Okay, so I have a situation. I have a 2012 Sport 2D with full doors and all that. I also live in barracks on the third floor. Taking two steel doors up a few flights of stairs every time I need to doesn't seem very practical.

Right now I have the doors sitting out in the open in the back seat area, does anyone know a better way to store the doors in the vehicle? Or does anyone have any other possible solutions?

In the vehicle, no :\

I've left my doors behind when out camping; I simply chained them up to a tree with a 4' bike lock.

That's just asking for trouble. This clearly not going to be what you want to hear but I say lug them in. Or make friends with someone on the first floor. Good luck!

Get a set of half doors for the summer and only lug the full doors once a season, or sell the full doors and get half doors.

I agree with buying half doors with uppers and getting rid of yours if possible.

However, a much cheaper option is something like what another forum member, bushpilot made. Check it out here: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-t...-234724/page3/ He built it out of wood, some people have built them out of PVC pipe. It seems pretty stable. I have a 4 door, so I don't have much reference for how much room you would have in a 2 door, but if you could build one that fit in the trunk space, you may be able to keep your back seats up. Worse come to worse, you could have a collapsible one like bushpilot has built, and drop off your doors whenever you want at a base location.

Good luck.

Do you know anybody that lives off base? I used to let one of the guys at work store his hard top in my yard. He brought some beer over every so often and all was good.

I might consider half doors. That would make it easier to find a place for them and all. As for making something to store them in/on. I'll see what I can do for that.

Thanks for the responses.

Default Storage Wars!

Or rent a small storage unit. You could even charge friends for space to help pay for it.
