Default Door Trouble

Tonight I went to take the doors off for the first time this year. Both of them were stuck. I have been taking the doors off for 2 years now and have never had any trouble. Does any one grease the pins or anything each year? I ended up having to use a hammer and a punch to free them up.

I spray the hinges with lithium grease when I take my doors off and on. This is my 5th wrangler and it has worked on all of them. It also helps prevent squeaks

Yea Lithium grease is the way to go. I always forget it and remember when they are stuck too.

Any brand that works better than others and do you have trouble with it running down the doors?

Should it happen again, you might place a black of wood under the door and use a jack to apply upward pressure.

Anti seize. Be careful cause the stuff gets everywhere and you'll find it in your hair 3 weeks from now

I use lithium grease for the hinges as well, but not the light spray - I use the thick stuff. Fill the hinges about half way, run the pins up and down a couple times, clean off the excess. Keeps water and dirt and crap outta the hinges especially if you leave the nuts off the pins for the summer. For winter prep, clean out the hinges, re-apply grease and then put the nuts back on till spring. Come spring time I have no problems getting the doors off. This is the stuff I use:

I have always had to to the old "open then close" approach. Helps free up the rust a bit. Works better with the white lithium. I have been doing it on all my jeeps since high school. Give it a try.
