Default Doors off security

When the doors and top are off, what is a good way to secure it while you are away from the Jeep?I don't mean the interior,I'm talking about it being stolen.Would it be a good idea to pull the coil wire and take it with you?

Won't start without the transponder key. It's not any safer with the doors on, they can just unzip the roof.

Thanks! I didn't know that.I figured without the doors somebody could just crawl in,jam a screwdriver in the ignition and drive away. Now I won't be nervous when I'm away from it.

yeah now they have to clone the key with Jet Clone or similar or even simpler use the series of movements (pull emergency brake, twist ....., etc.) to do the factory overide. which changes year to year and vin to vin. But the thiefs know them all.

same thiefs that use the black boxes to record your key fob frequency/RFID to get into your truck and use a programmable tv remote to do the same to your garage door opener....

This is what I got when I bought my Jeep. This thing makes the club look like a piece. I love mine and it uses a dual sided laser cut key.

Good insurance.

I don't worry about my vehicles being stolen anymore. I've had 3 stolen in the past 25 yrs and Its just not worth the anxiety of worrying about it.

Get good insurance, try and park in a good place and thats about it.

If you put some sort of visible theft deterrant than these punks usually get pissed off and mess up your paint or slash a tire etc..

To me that would be worse than getting the whole vehicle stolen.

i tried buying " the gorilla" but when the sales rep at the auto accessory place tried fitting it on my steering wheel, he said not to buy it cuz my steering wheel doesn't lock. he said it would be a waste of my money because the "gorilla" will be slipped off since the steering wheel can be turned when the ignition is off & the key is removed.
i took jeep to dealership & was told that jeep sahara with the trailrated badge doesn't come with locking steering wheel.
is this bs or has anyone heard different?

I stay away from stuff like this and the 'club' because a thief can saw through your steering wheel in less than 30 seconds and slip these things right off.
The sentry key system is useless as well to a serious thief as there are many ways to bypass it (ask a locksmith).

After doing some research since my last JK was stolen I've come to the conclusion that nothing is foolproof but if you layer your security you should be fine.
For me its a combination of a good alarm system combined with a good hood lock to keep the thief from just disconnecting your battery, lug locks, common sense (i.e. dont leave anything valuable in the jeep, park in a secure spot etc...)
and finally one of these :
