Post DTC code P0304

Hello all... I got my brand new 2010 Unlimited Mountain edition last week I have 960 miles on it so far. This morning driving to work ,the check engine light came on and the Electronic Stability Control light started flashing and then stayed on.

I took it to the dealer to check out, on my way the ESC light turned off. at the dealer they said the code that its putting out is P0304.. Cylinder 4 misfire... The dealer reset the code and said to drive for few days and if the light comes back on to bring it back cause it would take them till Monday to be able to get to it..

I still have the drive out tags on this JK and is a brand vehicle so I don't know what could cause this issue. Any help would be appreciated !!!

Like they said, see if it happens again. Did you feel anything?

Occasionally computer controlled vehicles will "hiccup" and it won't happen again. Not uncommon during the break-in period or after a service or component modification.

If it happens again, we'll go from there.

Did I read somewhere that the 2010's can't be checked this way? Not sure, but sticks in my mind for some reason.

i got the same code, cyl 4 misfire, twice within 1000 miles. dealer just cleared the code the first time and said it was all in my head, the second time i took it back and left "lemon law" papers on the front seat and they figured out that the cyl 4 spark plug was cracked making it short out and throw a misfire code. new plug and 500 miles later and everything is just fine. its worth a 30 second check.

I've checked my 2010 for codes several times never found one knock on wood. The trick, for me at least, is to keep slight inward pressure on the key while making the three quick twist from off to on. No pauses and on the third twist leave the key in the on position.

I really hope its just a small problem like a spark plug replacement for me and not a lemon. I plan on dropping it off in the morning at the dealer....
