Default Dumb question. How do you remove plastic molding?

Ok let me clarify. I know how to do what I need to do but it is not working.

I need to remove my front left and right a pillar plastic molding. The plastic screw that is supposed to just back out does nothing but spin. I know your supposed to put no pressure on it to back out but no go. Do I have to drill it out?

Possibly. But try to get something under the lip of the screw head to get some back pressure, then apply the screwdriver. Seem to recall that is what I had to do, but even so, wound up putting a bolt back into the hole to hold the plastic pillar in place upon reassembly.

Two screwdrivers....a small flat head to hold the outer part from spinning and a Phillips to turn the inner part.
