Default Eco mode in the new JK's-Can this feature be flashed on to a 2008?

I think that feature is brilliant. I hypermiled a stick JKU and got 25 mpg's by shutting the engine off and coasting in neutral whenever I could, just to see how far I could push the mpg's. Can't do this with an auto, though, because that'll grenade the transmission. But, going into neutral while the fuel cut off system shuts off the fuel would do the same thing. That'd mean I could get 25mpg's. I want this so bad.

Anyone know if it could be flashed onto the 2008? I left a message for the dealer and haven't heard back... as if they know anyway.

The biggest part of the eco feature is it turns off the fuel when coasting down hill.

My '08 never did that. I even tested for it a couple years ago.

Since I had the "Hot Oil" recall, and the general update reflash that was done at the same time, I can see on my AeroForce gauge, the fuel now shuts off when coasting don hills.

Thumbs up

HUummm _ I would give you my ECO feature free of charge anyday of the week. I hate it, it limits the coasting ability when letting off the acceleration pedal. Not impressed by it,,, not 4 me.

NOt to hi-jack the thread.... lol , but does anybody know if you can disable the ECO feature on the later JK's as well? A couple of dealers said no, but they are the same people that told me other things I learned on here that were able to be done......

My 2 Cents

As of what date did you get the reflash done?

The ECO mode on my 2010 simply "disappeared". Seriously! It was there one day, and the next it wasn't... Thought maybe it was a temporary feature to help you "learn" to drive economically(sp). Don't know.
