Default Electrical plug for doors

I've had my jk 2 years this week and the hardest thing about removing the doors is that plug for each door..
Last night and today I've tried taking my doors off again and I can not get that plug to release.. I'm afraid if I pull any harder I'm going to end up with a fist full of wires..
Are there any tips / tricks / mods to make that thing easier to unplug?

You did move the red locking tab over, correct? You slide the red tab over, then depress the tab on the bottom side of the connector and pull down. Takes two seconds and minimal effort.

Yeah but I just totally removed the red tabs and I was able to get them unplugged.
I've taken the doors off many times and the last few has been a real PITA..
I need to find some kind of grease or something to keep in there maybe.

Something else you might try: Push the two halves of the connector together as you press on the thumb release. That relieves the pressure on the catch, allowing the thumb release to actually push it up rather than just bend it up without actually clearing the little nubbin it's latched over.

JAVO,

I have the same problem. Sometimes it's easy, others it seems like the connector is jammed. Try what Mark was saying. Push the connector together, wiggle them side to side while trying to release the connector. This may release the pressure from dust or off kilter connector and allow it to come undone easier.

One of mine came off real easy after sliding the red tab over...the other one was a PITA so I proceeded to break the red tab off completely and busted part of the black thumb clip taking it off.

Good news is that they both went in very easy today and I just left the hinge screw off so I can pop them off that much quicker the next time.

It is a PITA! I've concieded to leaving the passenger door unplugged and i broke the driver sometiime ago so it slides on and off quite easily! I also leave the hinge bolt off permenatly its in a ziploc bag in middle with an allen wrench :P

I don't even put mine back in. No torx bolts on the doors and no electric plug plugged in.
