Default electronic throttle light

I jus had the electronic throttle light, esp light and check engine light come on. I reset by turning jeep off but the lights keep coming on....mainly at red lights or just idling in park. My main question is can I expect the dealer to give a line of BS that my lift and tires are the cause? Just want to prepare myself in case I have to argue the point if they don't want to cover under warranty. Jeep is not even a year old.

The lift and tires did not cause it unless it was damaged somehow during installation, which I doubt. If your dealer gives you a hard time go to the next one.

I have a 07 and last year, while still under warranty, I had the same thing. The dealer replaced the throttle (at least I think they did) and I've had no trouble since. At the time, I was having a very rough idle at stop lights as you describe.

The stock spark plugs may also be giving you a rough idle and this might set off the light as well (the problem may not be the throttle).

Thanks! I'm going to call and set an appointment to have it looked at. Seems like a common issue but I didn't think I'd have a problem so early on.

Did you check for codes? With all those warnings, there must be a code or two set.
Yes, take it to the dealer. See what they say.

Just checked the codes...thanks!!

Have two codes appearing...

1. P2173 - High Airflow / Vacuum Leak Detected (slow Accumulation)
2. P0507 - Idle Speed Performance Higher Than Expected

Going to try and get into the dealer next week. Hopefully it can be an in and out fix without having to leave her for a day or two.

Again, thanks for the help.
