I have a tick when I first start the jeep. It seems to last for the first few minutes and then it seems to go away. It is worse the longer the jeep sits before driving.

Mine did that, it had a cracked manifold. It started out that way and progressively got worse. Started sounding like a diesel.

"Progressively got worse" is the key word.

Just pay attention to any "ticking" and determine if it is getting worse. If it isn't then more then likely your fine and it very well could just be the injectors.

If it is getting worse then either a cracked exhaust manifold or even worse the beginning of internal motor issues.

I would also recommend paying close attention to what comes out of the oil pan after an oil change.

Did you replace the manifold or did jeep was it under warranty?

Mine is definatly leaking, I am at 40k miles. I checked the bolts at the manifold. the two bolts at the collection pipe (?) were loose. I tightened them back but I suppose the gasket is shot. Perhaps the manifold is cracked too?

Please let me know how you fixed your issue.

Thanks

I have the exact same thing on mine!!! I posted the problem on the forum earlier, but never got a great response...

I've taken my to two dealers and while both heard the noise, they stated that the noise was normal?!?!
