Engine Idle Shutter
Hello all. New to the Forum. I am having this exact same issue. A combination of my warranty just going out and not having much time to diagnose a problem such as this I have my 07 6spd in the shop this morning getting it looked at. The shop owner/mechanic is a jeep specialist and should find the culprit. Why am I hoping he finds more than just the spark plugs needing replacement? They were "replaced" at the dealership a month ago with no change in the engine shutter. One time it was so bad I actually had to put my foot on the gas to keep it from dying. I will post updates once this is resolved.
Just got the jeep back. was told the same thing thats mentioned earlier on this thread.
Technician: "I have to charge you $45 bucks for the time spent looking for something all JK's do. Has it ever stalled on you?
me: No
technician: "Doubtful it ever will. If it does call me"
And so I'm gonna stop chasin' unicorns and put it out of my mind. Goin campin!

I brought it to the dealer and they could not duplicate, surprise, surprise.
My regular mechanic said it was a transmission sensor. I have not tried that because I'm still under warranty and want the dealer to take the $$$ hit.

I just scheduled an appt at the dealership today for my 2010 Unlimited for this same issue. I hadnt looked on here for anyone else also having this same issue until now. I seem to notice my shutter or engine hic up not only when at a stop light, but when I am going between 20-50mph and just giving it a little gas, not really accelerating. I already have about 25K miles and I just started noticing it maybe 5k miles ago.
Ill post back up with their "expert diagnosis" on Friday (just in case anyone wants a good laugh Friday afternoon).

Mine does it nearly every morning once. Once it does it the first time it is usually done for the day. Maybe since it does it intermittently it could be a condensation in the fuel or even the intake. I wonder if those of us that are having this live in humid areas of the country. Just a thought......
I agree with it being a Pollution/Emission control issue related to the O2 sensor (slow response and ECU programming)
For those of you going to the dealer have them check the

Had this happen to the wifes Jeep, but we would get a code, first it was an 02 code, then a mult cylinder misfire.
Fixed crack in exhaust mfld., changed 02 sensors. changed wires and plugs. clean throttle body. finally took it to dealer, found cats were plugged.
They replaced them .under warranty.
