Default Engine light?

Ok so I was getting a gas cap prompt the other day. Took off my aftermarket cap and put on the original. Now i have the engine light on and sometimes the gas cap but I think that has stopped. Checked and topped off all fluids. 24,000 miles and it runs perfect. Can I reset this light somehow to see if it comes on again or do I have to go to the dealer. Ive got lifetime warr. but its just such a hassle. I dont have a scanner to retrieve codes. Thanks

go to advanced autoparts or one of those and you can borrow theirs in the parking lot and reset the engine codes and check what the errors are. or you can just take off the battery terminal and reset it that way. up to you.
