Default Engine light

2016 less than 1000 miles and check engine light comes on. Dealer checks for cause and tells me it is an issue being worked on by factory and no fix will be available for a couple of months. Anyone know anything about this issue?

Same issue, same scenario. CEL comes on and stays on. Take it to dealer - no probs. Has happened twice so far. Picked our new JKU in May, now has 2350 miles. Gotta go back to the dealer - sigh.

This has happened after being rained on overnight - not while driving in the rain, just while sitting.

Does it give you a code on the dash if you do the key trick?

I believe you put the key in the ignition, then push it into the ignition as far as it will go, then turn it from off to accessory 3 times stopping on accessory. The dash display will the. Show a line of dashes, and then flash a code number that you can google to find out the actual problem.

Ended up putting the key in to the "on" position and rapidly switching from "one" to "off" (through "accessory") three times stopping in the "on" position. And by golly the error code was displayed. The dreaded "P0300" "Multiple Cylinder Mis-Fire". Sigh, will go spend my morning at the dealer. I don't suppose they'll do anything except reset the light (based on guidance from FCA). But it'll be documented.

odd, but my CEL quit coming on. Guess it will be intermittent until FCA comes up with a fix.
