Default engine light help

Hello fellow jeepers, the M I L light / check engine light , came on in my 07 wrangler. I have searched several pages of threads and read the owners manual countless times but have not found a sufficient answer.

My wrangler has 55000 miles, is very well maintained , only mod is larger tires and is offroad only a few times a year. I have replaced the gas cap & have ran several tanks of premium fuel per the manual instructions and have disconnected the battery twice to clear the light, only to have it return after about 20 miles each time.

If anyone has some idea's on what to look for , or repair next I'm all ears.

Thanks
rb

Any noticeable problems with drivability or engine performance? That might give us some clue. Otherwise, if it seems to be running normal you may have to take it to a garage and get it scanned and see what fault code(s) pop up.
