Are you talking about the flange bolts that go into the head or the flange bolts to the exhaust pipe?
Thanks!

I run full synthetic with no problems.. Synthetic is not going to create more friction.. Thats crazy..

Wait a minute here. Any service mech. that tells me changing from dine oil to synthetic will cause anything to tick is a service mech. I'll never visit again.
What a bunch of crap.

I run synthetic oil too. My JK does it everytime I crank it. Even before I ran synthetic. I think it is an exhaust leak, i just haven't wanted to fool with the idiots at the service department. As for the new recalls on evap canisters, clutch throwout bearings and such...SHIT how many more damn recalls are there gonna BE!?? My Jeep has been to the dealer 4 times since I bought it. ALL for recalls. I do my own service, fix my own stuff and I hate for them to even touch my vehicle. Annoying i say. Oh well, guess when i get out of rookie school I may take it down there and "gulp" let them look it over...

I don't want to hear any stories about someones necktie in a fan, so be smart. But you can listen to your injectors with a pry bar. Just lightly stick your ear on one end and lightly stick one of your injectors on the other. You can also do this with the engine block. Lifters and internal parts and such sound quite loud when you test on the block. Exhaust leaks are inaudible through the pry bar. That way you will know if the dealer is full of it when they tell you what is wrong.

If you are the type that gets hurt in the bathtub, put away the tools and take it in to the dealer. No sense trying to listen to a running engine.

Any new word on this TSB? After about 2300 miles on my new rig it seems like the ticking has started. I took it to the dealer and they stated that it is the injectors firing and this was normal engine noise??? Those are some loud *** injectors. It is also odd that the sound was not there before and now it is.

Thought I had heard something about a TSB for this and the evap can but no word yet.

I have yet to hear a JK that doesn't have this sound so I'm not overly concerned.
