Default Error code P0506 - engine idling lower than expected...

So I got this code while wheeling today. I was on some off camber stuff, and my skidplates took a beating. This code showed up pretty much at the end of the "stuff". Jeep runs fine. No new noises. The dealorship is 3 hours away and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of what the cause may be and if there is any way I could address it myself. I'm installing a lift next weekend, and I want to deal with this first, so the dealor can't use my lift as an excuse not to warrenty anything.

copied and pasted from a google search...

A P0506 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:

A vacuum leak

An air restriction in the intake air path or exhuast

Damaged/failed/dirty throttle body

A faulty positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve

Failed pcm

Internal engine problem

I would check them in that order..but most likely your throttle body has some crud in it, or you have a slight vacuum leak...I would start looking for cracked hoses first, then try cleaning the throttle body just disconnect the battery first.

I would check the throttle body and replace pcv first. Good write up on the forum for the pcv and the throttle body cleaning.

thanks for the list. i'm gonna start with the exhaust restriction. pretty sure my tailpipe took a beating yesterday. I'm gonna go straighten it out, again, and unhook the battery for a bit while i check some of the other stuff.

so I straightend the exhaust tip and unhooked the battery for abit. Hooked it back up and started the jeep and let it run for a couple minutes. Check engine light stayed off. Gonna go for a drive in abit and hope it stays off. Someone else suggested it might have been from lowering the idle speed somehow (i'm guessing standing on the brake when in 4low creeping on some rocks yesterday maybe). Not sure which it is, but hopefully the light stays off. thanks for your help.
