Error Codes P0158 P0457 P0456 P0440
As a general FYI, just learned a little something from troubleshooting.
I was getting error codes P0158 P0457 P0456 P0440. Which are O2 sensor and EVAP errors. Turns out, it was the O2 sensor wire on the driver's side. It was rubbing against the front drive shaft which completely severed the shielding and the black lead for the sensor. I repaired it and the codes have not returned.
After some research as to the why this is what I found:
It states, " In order to detect EVAP leaks... a density method has been adopted. This system uses an O2 sensor to measure
HC density in the exhaust gases in order to detect leaks. Added HC from a leak will cause a reduction in exhaust oxygen content."
I only mention this little tidbit to help out anyone else with all these codes popping up suddenly. Before I started replacing canisters, checking for vacuum leaks or whatnot, I happened to "just check" the front O2 sensor since it was just behind the wheel. Luckily, caught a free fix.
ENjOy the trails.

Thanks for the heads up! I had the P0158 for a while. I scanned it and procrastinated, but then my "gascap" message kept appearing on my odometer. I scanned the Jeep again and found that I also had P0440, P0456, and P0457. I'll check out the wire first.
