ESP light on??
I am in the process of trading in my 05 Xterra for a 07 Unlimited, and the dealer said the ESP light was on, and they can not get it go off... so now i can't pick up new jeep b/c they don't know how to fix it!! any ideas? thoughts? etc?
Now the dealer says it is the Gyro thing that pretty much controls the ESP, ABS, and traction control stuff... and they are saying that they had to order it last Thursday and it won't get here until tomorrow or mid week! so by tomorrow it will be 1 week since I decided to buy the jeep and 5 days since I actually gave them my trade-in and signed the papers, and still no jeep:( i'm still in the loaner...
and if anyone has noticed on the Rescue Green paint, but my paint is NASTY, spots on the inside of the door are almost bare, all of the hinges are not covered completely with paint, there is surface rust on my steering column and the parts around there.. i took some pictures of it at the garage where it is sitting waiting on the gyro thing.
So in a nutshell, i have been told like 4 different times 4 different days that my new jeep would be ready. and now i notice that paint is bad, what should i do? this will be our 2nd jeep from this dealership...

If you're paying their price I wouldn't accept the car unless it was just the way I wanted it to be. You'll have the car a long time and you want it perfect when it comes to you. I'm sure you're really excited to get your hands on it but if you take it with bad paint you'll always notice the bad paint...it's where your eye will go. I'd have them make it right and feel totally within reason doing so. Good luck!
You are buying a new Jeep and this being the case you should accept nothing less than a brand new showroom quality Jeep. You are paying for a product make sure you are getting what you pay for. Additionally a repainted 'new' vehicle in some cases (maybe all) can not be sold as a new vehicle. Also repainting may void the rust warranty. If it was up to me I would refuse the Jeep and order a new one.
