It is part of the Emission/Pullition system. I belief it is cover under factory warranty for 80,000 miles. 8 or 10 years not sure.

The EVAP canister and it's controls are federally mandated to be covered for 2 years/24,000 miles.
Chrysler covers them for 3 years/36,000 miles.

Really hate the idea of going to dealer, but looking like that the only answer. Guess I will have to cross my fingers that I don't get flagged.
Do you know not to open the fuel fill cap (gas cap) while the engine is running? That can throw the code, too.

Why are you afraid of being "flagged"?

so you have a jeep with 7k miles on it and your afraid to take it to a dealer cause it might get "flagged" jeeps only get flagged when you give the dealer a hard time, maybe if your jeep was on 48's and had a 60 and 14bolt with a chevy motor they may not look at it. i used to have a 07 2 door rubi and beat the crap out of it on the trails and smashed the evap, took it to the dealer and they replaced it for free, no questions asked. do you wheel your jeep? is it modified? if both of these answers are no or yes just take it in and have them fix it.

Jiblet, you may have solved my problem. I never turn my Jeep off when I fill up, I had no idea that would throw a code.

JeepTooner, there is not much left that has not been modified on my Jeep. I have come to that point where I think I may have run out of stuff to modify.
