Looked the black box over pretty good and all the lines going to and fro and all looks good, this box has never been touched. Like I said this light has been on for about a year, and I only have 7K miles on my jeep, so its not as if its gotten a lot of use.
Really hate the idea of going to dealer, but looking like that the only answer. Guess I will have to cross my fingers that I don't get flagged.

Why are you afraid of being "flagged"?

so you have a jeep with 7k miles on it and your afraid to take it to a dealer cause it might get "flagged" jeeps only get flagged when you give the dealer a hard time, maybe if your jeep was on 48's and had a 60 and 14bolt with a chevy motor they may not look at it. i used to have a 07 2 door rubi and beat the crap out of it on the trails and smashed the evap, took it to the dealer and they replaced it for free, no questions asked. do you wheel your jeep? is it modified? if both of these answers are no or yes just take it in and have them fix it.
Jiblet, you may have solved my problem. I never turn my Jeep off when I fill up, I had no idea that would throw a code.
JeepTooner, there is not much left that has not been modified on my Jeep. I have come to that point where I think I may have run out of stuff to modify.
