Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
Never had an issue before then one day I heard a ticking sound when driving. I slowed down to turn and it stalled. Restarted and got it home. Took it to the local "Jeep Guy". Ticking sound is rocker arms, He ordered parts to repair. Other issues, torque convertor is staying locked up causing engine to stall and brakes are hanging up. There are no codes pointing to either problem. He wants me to take it to the dealer and make sure the software is the most current, up to date. I called the dealer to make an appt. they said they are not taking appointments right now and she would call me when they start taking them again, probably in June. This is making the price tag on a new Bronco a little easier to swallow. Anyone have a similar issue or do I have that ONE jeep. 2016 JKU
Sounds like something went haywire in the ECU. I agree that it needs to go to a dealer as there are just too many things going wrong. Have you checked battery and all grounds under the hood, at the battery and inside the cab? Being in the VI I would think salt may be playing its game if you go along the beach. Only vehicles that belong on the beach are the ones they use in ads - I will never take mine anywhere near salt water because of the above checks.
Got the rocker arms replaced and replaced the PCM. Still has same problems. checked and cleaned grounds. Still can't get an appt at the Jeep dealer. renting a vehicle by the month now. seriously thinking about visiting the Ford dealer next week. Living in Paradise has its drawbacks.
