Default extended warrenty?

Just bought my first Jeep! It's an 09 X with 9400 miles. It came with the 3 yr 36000 factory warrenty and I also bought the extended. I'm thinking of cancelling it and putting the 1400 towards refinancing it to drop the payment a bit more. Any thoughts? Is the jk going to be dependable?

first of all great choice! i bought an 07 with 27,000 miles. i needed the extended because the factory was already worn out. in your case, i would not choose to have the extended. your covered for the next couple years. if anything major is to happen you will know in the next year or so. just my thoughts though...at least your protected without the extension.

Is the 3yr from the day I bought it or the first owner? They didn't explain to clear on that?

It's starts from the original owner.

I would dump it. If you start to customize your JK you might start to void your warranty. I didn't get one. I put in a 4 inch lift and 35s. I went back to the dealer for a oill change and just talking to the rep he tells me that my I just void the warranty on my axles and my tran. O well I say to that.

I thought the same thing from what I've read here, and it will probably be a year or two before I get the chance to do any mods that would start to void that warrant:sad(

Keep it. If you lift, just have dealer do it and purchase lift from them. Atleast that what they told me. Congrats btw

I did an extended warranty on mine...one where I get the money back if I never use it...LOL!!

Anyway, since I roginally was not going to mod my Jeep, I thought it would be a good idea to get it since I was petrified of buying anything Chrysler. But since I've gone all mod crazy, I figured that money was lost since they would probably deny me warranty work.

Can I cancel the extended warranty and get cash back? I fugured once you got it, that's it....

The ex warranty is prorated if u cancel it, so depending on how many miles u have u should get something back.

I'd keep it. I've used mine with my jeep modified. Actually its at the dealership right now getting warranty work. Plus, if you put the 1400 towards the purchase, it'll only drop it around twenty bucks. On average of financing, every thousand financed ='s $20's in payments. So, I'd keep or spend it somewhere else. If you can afford the current payment, I'd leave it alone.
Congrats on the Jeep, where is the picture of it?
