Factory Black Paint
The black paint on my 2012 is not very good. My 2007 paint was much thicker and had a nice heavy clear coat on it.
60,000 miles the 07 had zero rock dings in the hood. Went through 4 windshileds but I digress...Hundreds maybe thousands of miles on gravel roads and narrow wheeling trails, all scratches waxed out super easy.
The current black is thin and does not appear to have any clear coat at all.
It may have some clear mixed in but it does not have a secondary clear coat like traditional auto paint.
Set anything on the hood, scratch.
Seriously, Home depot parking lot hotdog is heavy enough the scratch the hood with the new black paint. Kind of sad for a Jeep really.

My 07 Black JK had a nicer paint job as well.
This paint job is a pain to keep clean. After every trail and rinse it still requires soap and some detailing. I'm complimented on the color all the time but man does it require work to keep it looking good.
My 2009 paint is pretty good minus all the " zibera" scratches iv given myself..
Iv used turtle wax black box..it really worked
I plan on keep ridding the trails and zibra it up. When im ready I will use a single stag black paint..cheap and easy to redo
