Default Factory Fogs

My fogs went out about a month or so ago. I checked the bulbs and they are good. Checked the sockets and they are not good. Since they are both run of circuits, how easy will it be to fix this issue? Would it be easier to run a direct line with a toggle switch instead of running them from the column?

I would try and clean them good with electrical cleaner first, then if that doesn't work you could always get some new sockets from a junked one , im sure woldnt be to hard to locate. I would think(at least for me) I would want to try and make them work like factory before i moved to the toggle switch.
