factory receiver hitch size
Is the factory receiver hitch a 2" receiver or a 1.25" receiver? I'm ordering a bike rack for the hitch and want to make sure I order the correct size. My Jeep should enter production on Wednesday!
The rack I'm interested in is the Yakima HookUp 2 bike rack which is available in both 1.25 and 2" versions.
Thanks,
Glen

+1 on that. I bought a hitch mounted luggage rack, it clears, but just barely. I could definatly see the tire potentially causing issues.
I purchased a Bell 4 bike rack at Wal-Mart and it didn’t clear the spare tire by a 1/8 inch. I Had to get a extension It was possible to force it on but it was hitting the rim and I was worried it would scratch it while driving.
I have to have a bike rack. Day 1. Unless there is lightning.

My bike rack, which I've had for years, is a 1.25" with an adapter that bolts over the shaft to enlarge it to 2". It works quite well in my 2" receiver hitch on my F150, but won't clear the spare on my JK. Also, although I can lower that bike rack, it's awkward, making access through the tail gate a real pain in the rear (if I bought an extension, that is), so I went with the Mopar bike rack that bolts onto the spare tire mount.
