Default Factory Sound System

I bought my 2007 Wrangler 2 door used a few months ago and just ran its VIN through the Jeep website. Listed under my optional equipment it says "6 Infinity Speakers w/Subwoofer" however I do not have a subwoofer in the back of my jeep? Unless they are referring to some hidden tiny sub built into the system. How do I look and tell what system I actually have? Thanks

I'm guessing that the previous owner removed the subwoofer if your VIN says it came with one. Sub goes in the back, passenger rear IIRC. If it's there, you can't miss it. If you don't see it, don't go searching as it's been removed.

I have the same system. When you open the back hatch it is on the right side, yes you can't miss it as it is quite large and in the way. Look for the wiring plug. It would be easy to replace with a better one.

Would the wiring plug be in the back by where the sub should be? If it is I don't see it. Where is the amp usually located? But if they took out the sub they probably took out the amp too.

The amp is underneath the steering wheel. Remove the trim piece and it'll be attached to a metal brace, if it's still there.

Just went out and looked and I do have an Infinity Amp under the steering wheel! I guess that is one less thing I need to worry about. So all I should need is a factory sub and the wiring to run to it? I see them for sale for fairly cheap on here.

The wiring should still be there. Look behind the carpet on the right side in the back for an unused plug. Are the studs still in the back to mount the sub?

So I just bought a factory subwoofer online. Could someone describe where the plug wire would be? Would it be under the bottom carpet or up towards the roll bar?

Here is what the area looks like now. Crappy phone pic

Probably ran it under the carpet. Did it come with an amp or not?
