Default Fading on the Automatic Transmission Shift Indicator?

Hey All,

Got a question from my friend here. Both of us have JK's, his is 2009 and mine is a 2010, both saharas. For some odd reason the shift indicator is fading in his jeep (the plastic piece that says PRND21.) Mine is completely fine. Granted we've got a 30,000 mile difference on our odometers, but it's still strange. Any experience this problem? Been trying to find the OEM part but it doesn't seem to be available.
