Default feeling the down shift while coming to a stop?

Picked up our first jeep about a month ago now, a 13' JKUR w/auto trans. The one thing that keeps bugging me is that I can feel it down shift or TC unlock??? as I come to a slow stop. not really sure what it is doing but causes me to change the pressure I apply to the brake pedal all of a sudden. Is this normal? We have been driving old diesel trucks for the last few years so not used to these new fangled computer controlled cars...

Thanks
Eric

No sure if any help but my 07 does the same thing. I too have an autotragic.
However on mine the rpm needle will go up and down and not necessarily feel like it downshifts.
Anyway, got to bump your thread anyway.
Hey I'm in Downey too! We should hit the trails.

I've owned 9 other automatic cars and trucks but none of them do/did feel the down shift like the Jeep does but none of them were Jeeps so just checking if it is normal... Thanks for the info.
Blackmetal would love to...

Only if you have it in shiftable mode, gears 1-5, if in "D" it should not.

Yup, my 12 does it also, all the way back down to first. I'm one of the ones who likes it.
And I very rarely select gears manually, it does it in "D"

My 12 Rubicon 2dr does it in D as well. Took some getting used to but I like it now.
