Question Fill-up fuel problems

First off i wasnt too sure where to post this but my jeep is modified so...here we go.

The past four times i have filled up the jeep has overflowed. The pump will kick off but only after the jeep seems to "burp" and spill out some fuel. Not a lot but enough to be concerning. I have filled up at different locations each time to make sure it wasnt the pump and set the pump handle to the lowest fuel flow setting. Any ideas why this just started happening?
Could I have messed something up wheeling?

BTW my fuel gauge has been inaccurate since i got it, but the fuel overflow is new.

Background info:
'07 JKUR
30xxx miles
2.5 BB and 35s

Thanks in advance,
-Dave

I have the same issue, and contacted Chrysler about an extended warranty. They sent me the following response:

Thank you for contacting the Jeep Customer Assistance Center.

In regards to your email, there is an extended warranty for your fuel tank. The extended warranty code is X32. Please contact your local factory authorized dealer for more information.
My Jeep is also a 2007. I have not had a chance to take it in, but I will probably do it next week.

Its actually a problem with a valve in the fuel tank. The warranty covers replacement of the tank.

Its a common problem with most Jeeps in 2007 and I think some in 2008. If you search the forum, you will find lots of threads on the topic.

I have a 2010 and mine also does that. My fuel gauge is correct though.

Do a search as this is covered in depth. Its only for certain years currently. I however called Chrysler and used the logic, its the exact same issue just a few months outside their new waranty. Long story short, i paid a $50 deductible and tjey covered the rest. Search, find the number or warranty, be polite and you should be able to get it fixed.

Here's a bit more info. I was typing on my phone at 3 am in bed last night...

Chrysler will ask that you get it looked at by a dealer and make sure it is the "issue". I knew my dealer pretty well and he noted it without even looking at it, which saved me an additional cost. when i called Chrysler I said "I'm having this issue, is it covered in a warranty?" they said yes " if its the correct year/vin." so we looked and sure enough it wasn't. so I asked them why they wouldn't warranty an acknowledged problem? the lady put me on hold came back a few minutes later and said she could "have me pay their deductible it was either $50 or $100 (yet to be determined) and they would reimburse me for the rest." considering this was down from teh $450 I would have had to pay, I said yes and the rest is history.

Best advice I can pass along: be polite and use logic. don't get upset or they'll hang up on your a$$. as would I..

Good Luck.
