Finally for my Squeeky JK friends
Hey guys.. took my 07 Wranger in for the Clutch chirp this morning. The guy at the service counter said that it is the clutch rod or something. I said.. no I'm pretty sure it is the clutch disc. So I asked him to pull up the TSBs... which he did. He saw the two TSBs for the clutch disc and then another that had like 5 parts that needed to be ordered.
So.. no questions asked really.. he had to order the parts.. so I have my Jeep back. Will let you know when the parts come in and the repair is done.

Update on my repair:
The parts came in yesterday.. I dropped the Jeep off at 8am this morning. By 6:30pm they had not finished the job. Apparently while replacing the clutch disc the rear main seal is now leaking and the slave cylinder is leaking.
I am without a car for tomorrow, and was upset to hear that Chrysler does not give loaners. Basically I'm out a car for work. The service adviser said that I will have to rent my own car and that "I would have been covered if I had an extended warranty".
I'm a bit upset that they couldn't finish the work in an entire day and their lack of providing a replacement vehicle when the Jeep had to stay overnight. Will update tomorrow.

(PS... this is my 500th post

I know this is a national forum so maybe we could do this in our respective regional forums, but on my sportbike website we have all the dealers in our area and have the good, bad and the ugly posted about them. What dealerships to avoid for service, what kind of experience you had, what dealers you can get the best deal at for purchases, parts and gear. Would be kind of nice not to have to play russian roulette everytime you take your jeep into a new dealership and wonder if its gonna come out more fawked then it went in. Or that you will go there just to leave frustrated cause they won't work on your jeep. Just food for though.

I notice that there is no noise when I first start driving the Jeep in the morning. Once it's warmed up it is pretty consistent. When I shift or if I give it gas and let go of the gas. I was waiting till the 28th before even mentioning it to the dealer. I don't want to chance getting one of those bad parts they are installing up until the 28th ( today actually ).
2 things...
Will it hurt the trans or clutch driving it like this?
Does anyone else notice it doesn't do it when you first start off in the morning ( or after not driving for 8-10 hours?

David... I had the exact same problem. In the morning before the Jeep (really before the transmission) warms up, no squeak.
Then as you get going it will squeak more.
In fact, I was worried the dealership would take it for a spin and be like "we can't replicate the noise." To really hear it.. in second gear, pump the accelerator.. that will generate the change in torque to cause the squeaking.
Also.. if you drive up a hill... wait for a second before you would normally shift to the next gear.. this is also a time where it is very loud.
I just got my Jeep back last night after they had it for about a week. It was a huge hassle. However, now that it is all done.. I am extremely happy I had the work done. No more squeak. The clutch pedal seems a bit softer.. but it is easier to shift now. All and all.. I'm glad I had it done.
Not to mention after 12,000 miles Jeep won't warranty the clutch disc.

Dealership experience

I took mine in for a laundry list: but only the third time total in 10400 miles.
one of the things wrong was the manual trans " squeek " at 1200-1500 rpm.....
well as I pick it up I notice in the paperwork they changed my starter under warranty??????
....... then I read the starter had a broken ear and had a stripped out thread
......then I realize this is damage the tech did while working on my clutch replacement
....
I start it to go home and can hear alot of road noise through the shifter
next day it gets hard to shift forward ( 1st, 3rd, 5th) and I notice something trying to poke through the shifter boot.....
......
I pull the shifter knob and boot and there is a second boot and large circle of insulation floating around at the bottom of the shifter...... so I reinstall the insulation and the second boot properly......
but I realize this must be the same tech who broke the starter while repairing my clutch....

I can't decide if I should report his shoddy work or just not go back there for service.......
.............
Your thoughts ?????????????????
