Default Flag Pole

Memorial day is right around the corner. Does anyone know the best way to attach a flag pole to the jeep with the top off? I'm going to the beach and I want to be flying Old Glory all weekend.

I drilled holes for 2 ubolts under my 3rd brake light about 10" apart that I use to secure mine behind the tire carrier.

I have seen it done where you take an adjustable flag mount that ataches to a home and then they attach it to the mid section of the 3rd brake light and what they also do is drill a hole through the mount and flag pole while its in place and just run a small bolt all the way through both to make it so it doesnt come flying off driving down any roads or paths

I bought an aluminum pipe and some metal strap from home depot. Bit of cutting, bending, and paint spraying. Here's the result (which i am fully satisfied with).

Default Another option for a flag pole

It sounds like this is something that you would only occasionally want to use (since you mention the upcoming holiday). Rather that drilling permanent holes in your Jeep you might consider mounting a flag pole to a flat piece of wood or metal at a right angle to the mast to form an "L" then simply drive your tire over flat piece to secure the flag pole. Many use this method for temporary use of a large antenna mast.

Just a thought,

Only two flags should be allowed on that flag pole:

Flag 1: good ol' red white and blue

Flag 2: don't tread on me

And maybe depending on your location:

Ol' Dixie
